Ana Arango Sensei Chief Instructor is a 3nd Degree Black Belt in Aikido, certified by Master Teacher Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. She has been training in Aikido consistently for over 17 years with a background in Karate, Physical Fitness, Yoga and Meditation. She is a licensed attorney in both Texas and New York. Sensei is certified in Traditional Chinese Medicine by the Chengdu University in China, she is a Doctor of Naturopathy (N.D.) and is certified by Doctor Deepak Chopra in Primordial Sound Meditation. She studies Aikido religiously, and continues to attend seminars of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, Patricia Saotome Sensei and Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei. She also has had the honor of being invited to train at the Shihan University in Florida where the Aiki Shrine is located. She is both a teacher of Aikido as well as and devoted dedicated student.

Sensei's philosophy is based on her diverse studies and experiences creating a unique holistic approach to her teaching style. She believes that one cannot separate the Body, Mind and Spirit, and that all teaching and understanding should be based on an integrated approach of all three. Sensei loves to teach others to help themselves, to have choices in times of crisis, and to stay centered within a peaceful self.

Ephraim Fernandez Sensei is a Black Belt in Aikido. He has been training Aikido for more than 15 years. Ephraim Fernandez Sensei has trained under the direction of Mr. Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. Mr. Saotome was a student of the founder of Aikido Morihei Ueshiba. Ephraim Fernandez is also a black belt in Taekwondo. He has been practicing Taekwondo for 10 years. What is more, Ephraim Fernandez has instruction in Kali - Silkt which is a Filipino Martial Arts. Ephraim Fernandez Sensei give us the fundamental training in stricking arts and his variety of knowledge contributes to the students of Shobu Aikido Houston.
